About Us

Mendes Ranch is owned and operated by Franc and Jacqueline Mendes. They are both lifelong equine enthusiasts, having been involved with horses for most of their lives. Franc is a test pilot and relies very heavily on the horse/human interaction to maintain his well being and reguate any stress. He loves spending time with his horse "Banana" and riding around the farm fields.
Jacqueline is a teacher and has been involved in the Education field for more than 20 years, teaching in South Africa, Hong Kong, and China. She loves to take part in horse shows and gymkhanas.
The decision to begin the therapy program began when the principal of the school she was teaching at asked how she always maintains her peace and happiness. This question made her realize that her grounding came from the horses. This inspired her to share these opportunities with other people in the hopes that others, too, will achieve this peace and happiness through their interactions with horses.
